Wow does time go fast...It doesn't seem that long ago when we were gentley washing her in her baby bath. Now...anything goes! Splashing...signing...playing...and water EVERYWHERE! (I love it!)
Let's hope this hair-do is not a sign of the future!

The Body IS Connected!
For all of you parents reading this, you'll probably agree that teething does in fact affect the ears, nose and throat. And for all of the medical personnel that disagrees...bologna. Rylee was sent home from daycare yesterday with a temp of 102*. Jamie picked her up and brought her over to get adjusted. Steph checked her out and she had fluid in her left ear. Rylee got adjusted and by the time we drove back to Lake Park, her fever was already down to 99*! She took a long nap and after waking up I noticed that her fever was back...but in a strange way. Her left ear was 101.5* and her right ear was 99.2*. Her left check was really red and the right, not so much. And, when feeling her face and neck, her left side was considerably warmer. So, I investigated her mouth....any guesses what I found? Yes...teeth. Not 1 but 2. She broke through a top left molar and bottom left molar.
So, knowing my nervous system from Palmer, the cranial nerves that go to the teeth go right past the ear, to the brainstem which extends from the base of the brain all the way down to C4. (cervical vertebrae in the middle of your neck). Is it all starting to come together? Yes, the body IS all connected and Rylee is proof that teething can affect other systems of the body. When one area of the body is inflamed, others around it are affected to.
As a result of Rylee's temp, I got to spend my afternoon with her yesterday and have the day off today, so we'll get plenty of good quality time together. If this keeps up I'm gonna want to stay home with her every day!

FamilyLife Retreat
Jamie and I attended the FamilyLife Retreat, "A Weekend to Remember" this past weekend. I can't say enough about the great time we had, the great message they gave, and the great life we will have together. This retreat is focused on God's plan for marriage and is focused on couples who are dating (although we were the only ones in this category this past weekend), engaged, married, and maybe even about to divorce. There were couples who had been married for 2 1/2 weeks and 42 years attending. What we loved so much about it was that even if your relationship was strong, you learned ways you could enrich it...and if it was troubled, ways to fix it.
We both took so much away from it and are truly excited about the changes that are happening in our relationship. We can already see that the areas that were good are stronger, and the areas that were needing a little bit of work are completely attainable.
For anyone interested in enriching your relationship, you should check out the information on the following website. We are so glad we attended and would highly recommend others to attend as well! http://www.familylife.com

I Hate The Cold!!!
This winter is seeming to drag on FOREVER!!! It doesn't help either that my family is enjoying the warm Florida sun and I'm stuck in -40 degree temperatures. The joys of Iowa living... I can't wait for next month knowing that no matter what, Spring will be coming. I'm so looking forward to taking Rylee out for walks and playing outside again with her. She loves being outside right now and it's so sad that she can't enjoy the snow a bit more due to the frigid temps. She will love the next few months to come...I can't wait!
